LTU Assistant Professor Yidong “Steven” Wang has received a Spencer Research Library Travel Award from the University of Kansas to support research exploring queer life and community in the American heartland. Through archival materials from Liberty Press, Wang’s project examines how local media helped queer communities build connections, express identity, and document everyday experiences beyond major metropolitan centers.
