"Carpe Diem", which is only a two-word proverb, which those who are curious and interested in Latin proverbs will probably encounter sometime, is quite impressve. I thnk the reason for this to be impressive is due to that it makes everyone think deeply. This phrase was first mentioned in a long poem written over 2000 years ago by the Roman poet Quintus Horatius Flaccus, known simply as Horace (born in Venusia, Italy in December 65 BC and died in Rome on November 27, 8 BC). “Odes” (Odes means lyric poems) is in the last line of the I.XI stanza.
